Services
At Cedarwood Veterinary Clinic in Red Deer, we offer a wide range of veterinary services. We're committed to providing the medical, diagnostic, surgical, and preventative health services to ensure your pet lives a long, healthy, and happy life! One of the easiest and most affordable ways to ensure your pet's health is to bring your pet into our practice for vaccinations and regular examinations.
Cedarwood Veterinary Hospital's wellness and vaccination programs are designed to prevent disease and prolong the lives of your companion animals. The cost associated with disease prevention is far less than the cost of treating a disease that has already developed in the body. One example is parvovirus.
Red Deer's Cedarwood Veterinary Hospital is equipped to handle a wide range of medical conditions, including emergencies. By offering many diagnostic procedures in-house, we can often provide immediate answers to you and start treating your pet quicker. In certain cases, your pet may require hospitalization and further diagnostic testing.
At Cedarwood Veterinary Hospital, our veterinarians provide many surgical services, ranging from routine to advanced procedures. Our priority is ensuring that our patients receive the best possible outcome. That's why we occasionally refer them to specialists (board-certified veterinary surgeons) to perform certain complex operations when advanced equipment or training will be beneficial.
Identifying a medical condition before an emergency situation arises can mean the difference between life and death for your pet. Similar to hemophilia in humans, von Willebrand disease can cause life-threatening bleeding. Many dogs who carry this disease in their genetic makeup go undetected until a minor surgery or small, superficial injury results in significant blood loss.

Positive: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness
We had our Swiss mountain dog in for surgery on her left shoulder she was only 6 months old and able to walk with a sever limp. Dr Keys did the operation and with 4 months of guarded activity she now walks normally and is a play full puppy thanks to Dr Keys. The surgery was not cheap but worth every penny

Very disappointed in the customer service we received by the front end staff today.
Background: Both of our dogs have been patients here for just over a year, we have spent well over $10,000 at this clinic in that time frame on 2 TPLO surgeries on our one dog, and allergy care for our other dog.
We called to refill our dogs ear drop prescription this morning. I received a call back not long after saying his prescription would be ready shortly, and they asked if we would pick up before close at 5:30pm or if they should place it at the emergency clinics desk. I told them we would be there today

Critical: Quality
Worst service ever!!! Arrived at 4pm was told 4 hour wait time. After 3 hours I'm told 6 hour wait time. They did x-rays without my consent. When I asked for my dog back the girl snotily tells me there is a diagnostic bill. I said I don't care I am done, give me my dog back now. Took them 10 minutes to bring me my dog.

For emergency animal hospital: I have had to go there twice for emergency appointments in last month. Both times they were very busy. Regardless of this I received top notch care for my pets. Both vets were also very personable! Not only that but for being during after hour care, the prices were reasonable! Thank you and keep up the good work!

We brought our dog, Twinkie to the clinic for spaying. Of course, she was new and not properly introduced, so she was a bit aggressive towards the vet/s. They had to put her in a kennel to be able to get her to sleep, and during the process, she broke her molar. They informed us about it and gave her a free operation for her molar as well. While they were doing the operation, they trimmed her nails. We have not been able to trim her nails until we brought her, as she would cry every time. I could recommend the clinic to anybody I know, and the staff are very approachable. 5/5

Our poor little puppy (ok, she's 7) was in dire straits earlier this week. With the amazing care she received from here, she was able to return home to us within a few days. Thank you to Dr Reed, and the rest of the staff for taking such good care of our "Little Miss". We will always be thankful for the love and care you showed to Teter.💜💜
