Got a balayage done by Heidi today and I couldn’t recommend her enough! I had a really warm and welcoming experience and Heidi managed to create the look that I was hoping for.

My first visit to Barbarella, I was really worried and nervous. But all was removed as soon as Heidi introduced herself and talked through the style of haircut I wanted. She was absolutely amazing and made me feel relaxed.

I’ve been colouring my hair there for years and have always found the staff to be really friendly and professional, and I’m really happy with the way my hair is done every single time, it’s always done to exactly the standard I’d like, and also it’s definitely great value for money! Had my dark dark hair bleached to a perfectly toned light blonde by Dylan. Been a client of his for a while now and every time he goes above and beyond to get the colour perfectly right. His attention to detail is impressive and really appreciated. I'm so happy to have found a colourist like him who knows his stuff so well because I've had some disasters in the past at other places going from dark to light. If you want beautifully toned blonde Dylan's your man, and cause this process takes a while it's a bonus he's a fun guy to hang out with!

Been a client with Kellie G for a number of years, previously at Bishop's in West Seattle. She delivers a great scissor cut, which I really appreciate. Over the years we have had some pretty interesting conversations, unfortunately, it only takes about 30 minutes to cut my hair, so time flies by way too fast. I have wanted this done for well over year now and have been to countless salons and consultations but as my hair is so naturally dark and has never been dyed before I was anxious, to say the least. Absolutely amazing salon. Chris transformed my hair after a bit of a box hair dye and bleach disaster and took so much care doing so. All the other hairdressers seem lovely too and the atmosphere is fab. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone. 🤩

Seriously, this place is on. I've been thrice now and I honestly don't know why it took me so long to dial in. It's low-key but stylish. Great tunes, light-hearted banter, awesome hair. Yes'm. The stylists know what's going on. Seriously. Love it.

Sarah O'Brian has been cutting my hair for several years from the time she was working at another studio to this one, and she has always given a good cut and style. This last time, the hair had a couple of years of hair dye; I also caused the hair to dry out by using Oops which got out some of the dye but not enough. So, I decided to cut it all off save an inch . Sarah spent over an hour on the style and it is cute as a pixie. I'm so pleased. She is such a pleasure to talk with as well which makes getting a hair style even more pleasurable.

I just got home from having my hair cut by Giuseppe and I'm in tears. I went in with some damage on the ends from bleaching that I wanted to get rid of, sat down and showed him an example of what I wanted on Instagram. I said twice that I didn't need anything done to the sides as they were fine (I have shortish hair that I'm growing out), but he took the clippers to them anyway, somehow leaving a hard line on the left side of my head although he said he was trying to fade it in. It was great of her to reach out to rectify my experience - something that some other salons don't do. She offered to fix my cut and also gave me a complimentary blowout/style. I was happy with the adjustments she made and the blowout was great, too! I booked my hair appointment here with Annelise last weekend, where I chopped off my long hair for a bob. Annelise is an easygoing girl and I found it easy to talk to her throughout my time in the chair.

She showed great attention to detail during the cut and was diligent in explaining what she was doing and the products she was using. At no point in time did she ever try to push a product too hard on me which I appreciated. I did end up getting this amazing smelling sea salt hair spray though!

I would return for future cuts, and am considering doing a balayage/ombre session with her.

Barbarella wins my review because it's the only salon on Vancouver that I've been to more than once. It's not that there was anything wrong with those other salons... it's that there's something very RIGHT about Barbarella! I've been chopped by Rainbow and Hayley and both were just fantastic. I felt welcome and comfortable from the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left looking like a god-damned bombshell.

A+ will visit again.

Just got a beautiful haircut at Barbarella with Kimmy. My hair was previously very dry and breaking but after a treatment and cut under Kimmy's skillful hands my hair feels fresh and new again. I have been going to her for about 7 years and she never disappoints, always adding a bit of her personal style to the cuts while keeping to your vision.

The atmosphere of the salon was very comfortable and relaxed, serving tea, coffee and conversation, while maintaining a professional feel. I already can't wait for my next visit.
