Prep Hair Salon

I've been seeing Liz for the last 8 years (from when she was a Poppy Hair, another great salon on 4th) and have never had a bad cut. She's obviously great at what she does, and it's always great seeing her and catching up. She knows what to do when I sit in the chair - I trust her to just let her do what my hair needs and I walk out looking great 100% of the time.

I had a really great experience at Prep Hair Salon. Liz gave me a much needed haircut that was creative, beautiful but still respectful of my request for a style that would be low-maintenance for me. The cut exceeded my expectations and I left feeling really cared for. I know I will be returning and I would definitely recommend Liz to others.

I thought I had gone to great hairdressers already, but that was before Liz cut and styled my hair! She is amazing, and I cannot sing enough praise for her skill and customer care. Honestly the best haircut I have received. She very much knows what she is doing, and takes the time to explain the process behind the style you want.

I've been going to Prep Hair Salon (& their counterpart Poppy Hair Salon) for the past couple of years and usually see their lovely stylist Julie. I've always been perfectly happy with Julie but she was fully booked when I recently decided to go for the chop from long hair to an inverted bob just above the shoulders, so I opted to see another senior stylist, Liz, instead and again I am perfectly happy :-) Liz was really nice and chatty and listened carefully as we went through the bunch of potential styles I'd printed out to take with me, offering advice and even accommodating

Booked an appointment online yesterday at 9pm, got an email this morning asking me to come in this afternoon! Liz was super friendly and professional, did an amazing job on my hair even though I wasn't sure what I wanted. She even gave me some pointers on dealing with my stubborn hair. Covid protocols are really good, they sanitize stations in front of you, and lots of distance between clients. Price is reasonable and had no surprises. I will absolutely be returning!

I badly needed a haircut after a year of lockdown, and chose prep. Julie did a great job with my hair, she was so personable and did my hair exactly as I had imagined it to turn out. The salon was clean and well maintained. I recommend Prep if you need a quick hair cut and are looking for a safe place during these times!

Since Covid, Gretchen moved to Prep Hair Salon from Poppy Hair Salon, a sister salon of Poppy Hair Salon . All covid restrictions are followed. The salon is clean and everything is very obviously sanitized after every client. Prep is two blocks from Poppy Salon. Poppy also follows the covid restrictions. Gretchen has been coloring my hair since 2011. Karianne cuts my hair at Poppy. Both Gretchen and Karianne are exceptional stylists and extremely professional. After I leave the salon, I feel like I am in a hair commercial with a top 40 song playing in the background.

This was my first experience at Prep Hair Salon and it was amazing. The staff were friendly and the hair salon clean/ organized. Liz is the best not only did she make me feel comfortable as a new client but also did an amazing job on my hair. I have been looking for a hair stylist that can deal with my fine hair and I walked out of there not only loving my haircut and style but confident. Thank you Liz!

Today was the first time I booked an appointment at Prep Hair Salon with Ashley. I cannot begin to say how happy I am with my blond highlights! They look absolutely beautiful, Ashley did an amazing job and was very friendly and professional. A shout out to all the staff there, who were all very nice and welcoming, so refreshing compared to other salons in Vancouver! I will be back for sure:)

The staff is welcoming & friendly. The salon has such great energy, not pretentious like some places can be.
I've been to see Kelsea for a haircut twice now and I am always thrilled with the result. She is awesome, we always have such great chats and I have been told by close friends that this is the best haircut I've ever had. Plus it is in a price range I can afford which is nice when you're on a budget.

I have curly hair, and I've been through a lot of stylists who haven't known how to cut it or have just tried to "correct" it. As a result, I only really get my hair cut after many months, once it feels urgent. I decided to look up a salon near me with stylists who know how to work with curly hair, and I saw that a number of the stylists at Prep have been trained in it. I called and the receptionist fit me in for an appointment with Ashley C, after I asked for someone who is good with curly hair. As soon as I walked in, I felt appreciated. Ashley Burgess is a fantastic stylist. She has been cutting my hair for over four years and she does an impeccable job with my blonde highlights and cut. Came here as a walk in to get a consultation on the state of my bleached hair and they set me up with the right stylist who specializes immediately. I had no plans on getting anything done that day but After an honest consultation , I ended up getting my haircut. Couldn't be happier with the service . modern and clean with no shortage of amazing hair products by bumble and bumble in all sizes.
