Jazz In Toronto
The Rex, Toronto's longest running jazz club, is host to some of the world's finest musicians. With 80 shows per month you'll see the best Canadian talent and touring groups from around the world. For over 40 years we've made The Rex just like home. Our downtown Toronto hotel is attentive, convenient, and down-to-earth friendly.

Toronto's main attractions are walking distance from the boutique style hotel's front door on Queen St. Under old management since 1951, The Rex has transformed from a small bar and hotel to a family-run musical mecca. Whether you're staying in our cozy hotel, working in downtown Toronto, or catching a show, our pub-fare menu will keep you going.
Services
From humble beginnings, The Rex Hotel Jazz & Blues Bar has grown into a musical mecca presenting 19 shows per week. Since the late '80s, the Rex has been at the forefront of Toronto's thriving local jazz scene. The casual atmosphere, eclectic mix of retro-chic decor, and wide selection of Ontario craft beer combine to make The Rex feel like a second home.
The Rextaurant features our famous homemade burgers along with delicious and affordable pub-fare. Not only is it perfect for our hotel guests, it's the perfect place to bring your office group, family, or friends for a lunch or dinner party in downtown Toronto. Mike Deicont Quartet joins us at The Rex this evening at 5:30 pm! Come and enjoy Friday evening with us!

Great music and like the set up they have for shows, good drinks and service, however I ordered a chicken Parmesan and it was soggy, likely frozen, so that knocks it down a star. Other than that great place

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Stayed because I had to go for an operation. Due to covid everything was closed so didn't get to try the food or listen to any Jazz music but I would love to go again when the weather is nicer and things are opened up again.

Rooms are a bit small but price is represented respectfully. Bit of a dated feel but good if you like that. Great location though in the heart of downtown, lots of restaurants around and right beside Nathan Philips Square.

So, if you know what you are booking, this is a great hotel at an incredible price. Double beds (not queen or king), tiny room, and in a hall where you can hear every noise from the rooms next to you and even the entertainment from the bar. But, it's clean, and the entertainment is good. Worth the money, for sure. The location us prime and the service was very friendly. I recommend this place to anyone who knows what to expect. Oh and beware, there's no parking on site.

So on the outside it might not seem like much but the location is unbeatable. They were able to store my luggage for me when it was too heavy to carry up the stairs. And you're so close to everything, there's a phenomenal India place across the street that I got take out from. Also shared bathrooms in the hallway. They were so clean. Happy to go back again.

Just a perfect to stay. The room was clean and tidy. I'd booked the standard single and it was exactly what I would expect. Nice and simple. Nothing spectacular but for the price, you really won't find anything better.
The location is perfect, the staff very friendly and helpful, plus you have the best jazz and blues bar & restaurant right at your fingertips. Parking is only a couple of hundred feet away at a reasonable price. I paid $25 for 24 hours. They may as well make it free for that price!!
Overall, very, very satisfied and happy. I booked it here so that I could attend the premiere of

Looks a little rough-and-tumble from the outside, but the room.was super clean. Basic room with no amenities but clean room with clean bathroom and shower is all you really need when traveling. Super chill staff. Great food and good music. Will probably stay there next year on my bday as well, as they are close to everything!! Thanks folks!

Great line up of bands and an amazing ambiance! Every time I visit Toronto, The Rex is on my schedule, even if it’s for a quick half an hour. Love you guys and thank you for what you’re doing!

One of a kind jazz destination with a constant flow of excellent musicians, young and old. The Rex is a little "divey" but that only adds to its character. good craft beer selection and good food. Even the rooms are surprisingly decent.
