If you haven't been on a bike in years, the first step you should take before riding around town is simply getting comfortable on your bike. Take some time to practice in your driveway, in a park, or on a calm side street before you take your wheels on the road. Practice the range of motions you'll at some point do on your bike, such as riding with one hand, shoulder checking, stopping quickly, and standing up to pedal.
Be Prepared - Bring your booties and a light waterproof jacket in your pack every day, that way if it is dry in the morning, but raining on the way home, you won't be caught by surprise. It happens all the time. Back Off - Don't follow to closely behind other cyclists and cars or you will be first in line to catch all the mud and grime that is flying off of their tires.
When you buy a bike from us, we stand behind it. Not only do we assemble the bike beyond what most shops do, we provide consultation and adjustments for the first year to every new owner. All new bikes and parts are guaranteed to be free of defects or poor workmanship. We stand behind our bikes and how they are put together.
The battery is the eBike's power source. It supplies the motor with the electrical energy that is required to provide power assistance when cycling. So it is hardly surprising that there is frequent discussion and "talking shop" about the eBike's battery in particular. What is the difference between batteries?
We were taking care of electric assist bike riders long before it was, how do you say, . in vogue. As there are numerous systems and components out there, we ask that you call us at 250-391-1980 or drop by for a consultation. We can't fix your bike over the phone, but we might be able to help you out if you come by with the bike.

For over 7 years I took my cycling needs to Recyclistas. I was always taken well care of, but with the advent of the pandemic, I have kept all shopping etc uber local. I live close to Coastal Cycles, so I started coming here. I found the owner knowledgeable , but aggressive. I am aware that we all have different personalities etc so I didnt judge and worked with it. However. This week I brought in my bike for fixing. I was immediately hit with, do you want a new bike, FIVE times before it was even LOOKED at. By the owner and the mechanic. The mechanic then did a quick assessment of

I found this shop really helpful, while they don’t sell high end mountain bikes I would not hesitate to bring my bike in here to get work done on it. Got both my SRAM guide RSC brakes bleed here for $50. Dropped bike in on a Saturday morning and picked up that afternoon, no other bike shop in the area offers that turn around. Also very friendly staff.

My friend and I were visiting Victoria and wanted to rent a tandem bicycle to take in some nature. The team at Coastal Cycle were so nice and very helpful in setting us up for success! Helmets, saddle bag, bike lock, bike map, and even a spare tire we're all included in our rental. We had the best time and they even offered to take our photo when we returned!

Rented nice San Rafael model Marin hybrid bikes from Coastal Cycle last weekend. Easy rental process at a fair price. One of our chains broke a 40 minute cab ride from our car on our first day out. But when we informed the guys at CC while replacing the bike for our second day they took the rental cost of two of the four bikes off our total bill for the inconvenience.

I recently purchased an expensive electric bike conversion kit from this business. It is faulty making it's use unreliable and undependable. They are unable to correct the problem. They will not provide me with a replacement kit nor refund my money even though it carries a two year warranty. I now have to take them to small claims court to force them to comply.
