They raised the prices so much over the past year, it’s not worth visiting anymore.
Still yummy, but not worth the money. $4.25 for a big bun, seriously?
I don’t have the actual numbers, but my impression is that the prices went up by around 30% over the past two years. I wish my salary went up that much.
Now, you see, I understand why they raised the price so much. In the good old days, there were long lineups, which means they had room to raise the prices. This time when I went in, there was effectively no lineup, as it took me the time in line to figure out what I wanted.

Saw there’s a line up, curious to know what they are famous. Saw the HongKong style bakery, would like to try, cha Siu BAO and Chicken deluxe BAO. Definitely is tasty, and something can only find the old memory in HK dim sum place. Highly recommended. But as a dim sum BAO ( price wise a bit more pricy), personal opinion when I compared to Toronto.

I’ve been coming here for decades to buy their pastries, steamed buns, and baked goods to go; as well as dining in. This is the place my Dad would take us for lunch or a snack when I was a kid in the early 80’s. Their steamed buns are still the best, followed by their apple tarts. A favourite dine in menu item is their lamb and bean curd stew…so flavourful! Comes with the daily soup, and bottomless tea.

We had the steamed bbq pork (asado) from various spots during our trip-Sun Fresh, New Town and Bao Bakery. Sun Fresh was good and their buns were larger and filling was mixed pork with I believe char siu flavouring or similar with the red hue. Bao Bakery was also good with their pork filling but meatball form inside.
New Town’s steamed bun was the best I find with the filling-minced pork, flavourful, and the dough bun itself was the perfect size in my opinion. The bun was light, round and airy. Our family ordered 2 boxes each for 3 families to bring home. They were that good! Coconut buns were

A must place to visit if you like Asian baked goods..lot of varieties to select. Few things actually reminded me Indian snacks by the looks but they tasted totally different. It's worth to try. S
Desserts are not too sweet. It's one of the busy places. If it's your first time trying chineese baked foods then highly suggest you to taste a sample first.
