We are a family owned business and have been operating Mundy Park Bakery since 1988. Our production staff have over a century of baking trade experience amongst them. We are truly a highly trained collection of trades people. I completed my training under the watchful eye of Master Baker Harry Vanderhoek in 1981.
We opened our first shop in Richmond and all I can remember is that the days were never long enough to make everything our customers wanted to buy. We built our second shop, Heritage Bakery and Deli at Barnet Hwy and Falcon Dr. and that was the beginning of our love affair with Coquitlam. Now 26 years later and the tradition continues with my son coming into the business to help my wife and I manage our growing business.

I was a regular here, loved the cinnamon buns, but the service has gone downhill and the prices have went uphill. Tried to buy a sliced rye bread and the clerk would only sell me the prepackaged that was soft and not crunchy. I was the only customer in the store yet she refused to slice a fresh loaf for me. Not the only bakery around.

It's so nice to still have some classic Canadian bakeries in Metro Vancouver: Mundy Park Bakery has plenty of selection (and probably had more earlier in the day) of baked goods, cookies, simple squares and cakes and a few Dutch treats as well, they're really well priced and unpretentious.
The cinnamon buns (with icing, of course!) are really good, but unfortunately my danish was so hard and stiff it felt stale. Maybe I just wasn't a fan of the texture; still, I'm sure some more jam would have helped.

Awesome independent bakery. This place is a local gem and glad we found it. We've been enjoying many of their baked goods and everything we have tried has been delicious (the prices are very reasonable too, 1.50-2.30 or so for baked goods... I think it's a very fair price considering these things are baked in house and not delivered in... amazing quality). We have been buying their pizza dough and making some EPIC pizzas with them at home.
I'm a big fan of cinnamon bungs and they have 3 varieties, plain (which is really good), traditional icing, and cream cheese frosting (very rich). They're great
