I called and asked if they had a specific hypoallergenic dog food in stock. They told me yes but that it needed a vet's recommendation so could I ask our current vet to call in. They also told me they would put the food aside for me. After my vet called in I checked to buy the food later that day and they told me they would only sell it to their current clients after all. I understand if that's a policy but they should be forward about it because it doesn't seem very professional to waste everyone's time.

Our neighbour hood vet. We mainly go here because of the great Doctor Kong. We had a Westie with renal disease and had many difficult visits over a year span with Dr Kong who was always very helpful, caring and compassionate. It really made a difference and we are so grateful. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only con is that they are on the expensive side, but thankfully we can afford it and still have positive experiences. Def recommend it .

My dog went through a very difficult period of treatment at this clinic. At first my dog had a small cut and I took him to the clinic for treatment, but the doctors here didn't have any surgical treatment, they just prescribed anti-inflammatory drugs for two weeks and told us to clean the wound at home to see if we could heal on our own. The ineffective treatment alone cost more than $600. Of course, after two weeks the dog's wounds had not improved and he was still vomiting from the antibiotics. Then the clinic had our dog undergo an operation that cost thousands of dollars. Will never come back

The staff and doctors at Amherst truly went above and beyond in caring for our kitty throughout her long life. They are friendly, kind, incredibly knowledgeable and skilled. In particular, Dr. Beneke was exceptionally empathetic and thorough in helping us to manage care in late stage kidney disease. Our family will always be grateful to everyone at this office for the kindness and quality of care they delivered.

Took my cat today for a second opinion today, which confirmed my suspicions that a previous diagnosis from a different doctor was inaccurate.
It was a nice touch that as we can not go into the clinic right now, Dr. Yuen met us outside in person for a quick pre-appointment chat. Her assessment was thorough and she spent a generous amount of time on the phone with me following the appointment. The techs were also lovely and everything was smooth and professional.
With other pets and different vets, I've experienced what felt like all sorts of upselling all sorts of unnecessary products and treatments

You do not realize how important having proper veterinary care is until there is an emergency. Emergency care was provided elsewhere and took an unexpected turn. Dr. Kong was professional and respectful with questions from myself and our kids. She was able to turn things around in 48 hours and I am happy to report our dog is great.
Our family highly recommends Dr. Kong!!
Dr. Yuen and the other staff are also amazing.
Thank you to you all.

I'm shocked..we went to this vet today, cause our cat is not eating in the last 48 hour, so we went just for precautions...Came a very young Vet...she examined her, taking the temp as well...LESS THAN 10 MINUTES!!...she also suggest to make a blood test...then I asked..how much will be...the answer 209 $$$$$ are we all crazy here !!???? In the end… a visit of 7/10 minutes 91 $$$ Crazy world...taking advantage of the people pet's love !!! OUTRAGEOUS & SHAMEFUL!!! I most probably pay less for my private Doc. visit...CRAZY WORLD good for OPPORTUNIST

My dog was traumatized as a pup at another vet. The vet got down on the floor with us and took her time, allowing my dog to be comfortable. I was also a bit nervous because I don't like seeing her gt poked and prodded. Not only did she make my dog comfortable, she also made me comfortable as well! Overall I'd give Amherst a 10/10.

If only there were more than 5 stars!! I'm not sure that Amherst was on FB at the time (3+ years), but they were an absolutely god-send with my cat, Zoe. She had kidney disease, and every single person I dealt with at Amherst went above & beyond with kindness and compassion. I cannot say enough good things about them. We now have two rescue cats and they are patients, too.
