Marine's fruitful career in hairstyling began when she was just seventeen years old in South Korea. With the ability to do it all, Marine is a master at men's haircuts, producing perfect fades and any hairstyle her clients desire. Her outstanding skills especially shine when she is cutting soft styles, hot perms, and creating beautiful, feminine hairstyles.
With twelve years of experience in the field, David started his hairstyling journey in Japan at twenty years old, with the spirited motivation of wanting his clients to live a better life through their hair. David also dreams of being in charge of the Vancouver Hair Show and providing hair and makeup for Hollywood celebrities.
Takuma has been in the hair industry for over ten years and worked in Japan for several years before moving to Vancouver two years ago. His speciality lies in men's haircuts, specifically razor work and clipper cutting. He is very detail-oriented in his cutting and aims for clean lines and precision in his final product.
At a young age, Janice fell in love with hairstyling after attending a hair show. However, she continues to see the un-ending charms that hairstyling has after each client. Everyone is in good hands the minute they sit in Janice's chair, where clients can rest assured that they will receive a natural but elegant hairstyle.

I went there 2 weeks ago for a root perm and it was good. The hairstylist recommended me to have layer hair if i want more volume so I decided to go back but they assigned a different hairstylist not the one that was talking to me and i was surprised but considering my previous experience I assumed he was as good as her. I showed him multiple pictures of the hair i wanted and he said the pics were blow out and used curling iron so i have to use them if i want it to look like that. My hair was medium/long when I came in. I asked for a haircut with someone who's knowledgeable on womens haircut and they said that everybody there had the same level of expertise. I showed the hairstylist a photo of a longbob and said that I wanted to keep the length but make the angle that defines the longbob cut. He seemed nervous and like he wasn't sure of what his was doing and cut my hair straight and very short. I looked up a bunch of different salons in my area and decided on Luxor. I was initially hesitant because of the price, but I think for Vancouver it's probably quite reasonable?! Regardless, I left very satisfied and will definitely go back! Kats is a great stylist, and made the experience very relaxing! Thanks Kats!

I regularly go here for my haircut, and find katsutoshi to be professional and consistent with the cut I want. Having pictures of my previous haircuts to show him, he's always able to match what I've had before. Scheduling is very flexible, and the front desk is always able to let me know when specific stylists are working so I can book or call back later.

I went to get a quote for root touch up and highlights, no hair cut. I have medium length hair. The Korean stylist quoted me $385 plus, saying that it could be more? I politely said no and went to salon next door and got exactly what I wanted for $210 (root touch up, highlight, wash and style).
FYI I was quoted $180 at Luxor for root touch only and highlights was on top. Stylist suggested I did ombre instead of highlights.

I was slightly disappointed. I chose Luxor Hair after seeing many positive reviews on google, but my experience there was below average.
I had an appointment at 6 pm. I understand it is the end of the day, everyone is tired, but I was expecting that at least the staff could offer me some water or tea.
It was my first time there, I didn't ask for specific stylist. The stylist who cut my hair did not introduce herself nor give effort on facilitate conversation. However, she was talking to other stylist in Korean.
I was especially disappointed at the cashier who made zero eye contact.The haircut

Hair stylists there are ok. Unfortunately the owner is DISHONEST. I was a regular customer for grey hair touch up with treatment, it cost me more than $150. I found it's too expensive so one time I only do grey hair touch up but was charged the same. So, I questioned the owner, he said I was charged same as last time, nothing more or less. I told him I didn't do treatment this time should be less, his responded shocked me. There is a minimum charged for grey hair touch up.
Now, he's not only lost my business , but also my family and friends.

I dyed my hair here and it cost 400 dollars with tips. I didn’t bleach my hair and didn’t cut my hair. I just dyed normal brown color has greenish undertone. My hair turned out green at the bottom and brown at the top, And very light brown at the root. Whole hair had uneven color distribution. And my hair felt extremely dry after this. I had a long and thick hair at that time. But I don’t understand how could they charge me so much and did so poorly. I dyed my hair 2 months later and It was my first time doing it. I went here for an up-do for my wedding and was so happy that I did. Sina (I think her name was) did an amazing job and even incorporated the little hair accessories that I had brought. I thought it was quite reasonably priced ($100) and Sina was very professional, experienced and detail-oriented - tending to every curl. My hair remained intact the whole evening!

Mediocre japanese hair salon charging (even high than normal) upscale prices. I have been here before but vaguely remembered it, since there was obviously reason I didn't come back. I started realizing when the nice, but barely English speaking woman starting doing my hair. She seemed like she had no idea because of the language barrier and I feared she wouldnt know how to treat my naturally blonde hair. They did not include complimentary head/neck massage that is usually included in most places when washing hair.

Very pricey and not worth it. They don't offer the same level of service as typical Japanese salons do; no tea, no Pocky, no scalp/shoulder massages or hot towels, nothing. The hair washing was super fast. I brought a 5 year old and 6 year old, each only needing the ends cut, no bangs, no layers, and they just got a straight forward blow dry and they charged $42 each. My 5 year old son was $35 and my 11 year old son was $40. They were all in and out within an hour and it cost me $209 in total. I've been to other Japanese hair salons in Marpole and Kerrisdale and they spend a lot

I have lived in Kerrisdale for 40 years. I needed a manicure and pedicure using 'shellac' so I went in and the man at the desk said yes and told me the girl could take me right away. He said to start with the manicure. When she was putting the colour on she used a bottle of 'gel', which I didn't want as with gel, they use a 'dremmel' and you lose thickness of your nail. Not good!! Please don't go here as they have no clue of what they are doing. They charge an expensive rate for digital perm and color and the results were; color job that looks like a home job and a supposed perm didn't come out as a perm. The stylist tried to cover it up by styling it with her fingers and left my hair partially wet. This rating doesn't even deserve a star!!

Please don't do perms here. I had long straight hair and I decided to trim it and do some perms but they ended up making my hair look like I just got out from a tornado... Puffy and dry and ugly!!!! And when I called to complain the guy who picked up the call insisted me to come in ASAP asking me where I live and when I told him my location he said it's not far so just come tonight. (I had finals and papers I was too busy) I just thought it was rude of receptionist to force me in to their convenience.

Luxor is amazing! I do not have asian hair, so I was very hesitant to go there but wow did they leave my hair amazing. I've also had my hair dyed there and it was fantastic. Monica, Yoshiko and Rie are SO good, and all so super sweet to deal with!
Plus! I never get told that "my hair is SO THICK" - I already know that, and to hear that with every salon is so annoying! These girls never make you feel like you are a daunting task. I love coming to Luxor, DUH a treat!
