The service was amazing, they're so polite and are always informing you about everything they are doing. They were very accurate with what i wanted done with my hair, i got a haircut done by Ivy she was the best! Definitely recommend this salon!

Willy Kung did great job on my hair. I will come again for sure. Highly recommended! Willy has spent four hours and it felt like one minute!

I am new to Vancouver and this was my second hair salon experience here. At Banzai Hair Salon yesterday, the service was excellent, the salon itself was immaculate and the end result over exceeded my expectations. I had previously read the reviews for this salon and they speak for themselves.
I had the wonderful Myra who ensured my needs were met. She was not only professional in her delivery but also conversed openly making me feel very comfortable. I will not be going to another salon as long as I am in Vancouver.

I am so happy with my experience at Bonzai Hair Studio. Winnie was my hair stylist and color consultant. She was fantastic and I am so happy with how my hair turned out. (first time there). Everyone was so professional as well as warm and friendly right from the reception. Even the environment was calm, music was nice, other staff working were very considerate of their conversational volume and topics.

SO. this place is great if you are looking for a haircut, blow, wash etc. Word of advice though: don't get your hair dyed here.
Yes Charmaine is a very understanding stylist and she talks a lot like she is 100% on the same page as you but her skill in colour is way below average. I asked for a soft balayge blond look and purpously noted that I don't want the streaky look. She said she totally understood what I meant yet I came out with streaks so thin and white I look like a grandma. I showed her photos of exactly what I wanted and I came out with the opposite.

Willy is a miracle worker!!! I am a new mom, who was being driven crazy by my rat's nest ponytail look. I had strolled by this funky-looking salon in my neighbourhood, and on a whim, I made an appointment with Willy. BEST DECISION EVER! I told him 'just chop it off...whatever you think', and I am sooooooooooo happy that I trusted him. Now I am rocking a 'delicious' super sexy summer do (quoting my hubby), that works perfectly with my life with a wee one. A fantastic experience. It didn't hurt that Willy was really easy-going, funny, and kinda cute too :) :)

I haven’t bee to a Salon in ages because I have a hard time trusting someone with my hair (from previous experiences). But with my wedding coming up, I had to get something professionally done with it. Josh and Jeff did a BEYOND amazing job with my hair! They took something that was worn down, on the frizzy side and dyed to death and turned it into a masterpiece! They brought out the natural beauty in my hair and I’m so happy to work with my hair now. I was so pleased with the work they did, that I got all 5 of my bridesmaids’ hair done and styled by them too! I got countless compliments

Banzai hair studio is amazing, I go there to get updos from Char, and hair Color from Brandi. They really care about their customers and very professional with all the decisions they make. They recommend products, but never push you to buy them.
Last year for my prom, char did an amazing updo that kept intact during the whole night of dancing.
I highly recommend Banzai hair studio for their customer care and great value for the cost.

I've been going to Banzai since sometime around 2006 when I moved into the area of their old shop at 12th and Granville. I walked in and chatted with one of the owners, Chuck, who took the time to talk to me, see what I was looking for, etc. then set me up with a senior stylist, with my OK, of course.
I've been having Tomoko cut my hair ever since. Not only is she very professional and does a fantastic job, she listens to me, suggests things at my request, and never (ever!) pushes any products on me. For a high quality salon, I have always found their prices competitive.

Really good service - not pretentious, but it's a nice high end studio (they recently moved to Main St). Good pricing compared to other salons I've been to and they don't push their products on you.
I would highly recommend Winnie - she's very skilled and listens to what you want. She's also very good at making recommendations if you're looking for something new.
I've been coming to this salon now for about 2 years and love it.

I haven't been this satisfied for a looong time!
Yesterday, being a holiday, I could barely find anywhere to go that was open. When I saw the special for this place I stopped by and begged!
They were so kind (and I'm guessing it was the manager) that they agreed to take me in on such a busy day. Parking was going to be waaaay better than dt.
Charmaine was lovely. She spent about an hour and agreed to add some curl to my wavy hair that usually looks frizzy when I do it. Nakry was equally as great, and I felt really lucky to have had both of them style it.
Today, my hair is still bouncing

So I decided to give this place another try because the owner/ (manager?)/ stylist Chuck PM'd me on yelp kindly asked me to try the place again.*
I booked an appointment with my sister (both she and I have been here before and felt a-ok but not stellar about it. So we were both willing to give this place another try.
I'm glad I did because I realize that it is ery difficult to rate an entire salon based on the experience of one of their stylists.
This time I was reccommended Karen. And let me tell you she did EXACTLY what I wanted.** What I loved about Karen is that I told her

If not, move on and fork out $10 more for a good cut.

My hair gets very frizzy when it's raining. And it kind of rains a lot in Vancouver. :)
So, I decided to get a permanent hair straightening. A friend recommended me Jeff. I went in for a consultation a couple of months ago.
What I liked about Jeff was the fact that he honestly told me that my hair is not ready for a permanent straightening. He didn't just want to get my money, he really wanted to see me happy about the service offered.
