I want my clients to achieve complete beauty. Hair, makeup and clothing should come together to bring out the natural beauty of my clients. For me, it is about balance. After working as an esthetician in Japan, I continued my training overseas. I'm a graduate of Suki's Advanced Academy, Vidal Sassoon Academy (London, England and Santa Monica, USA) and Toni & Guy.

We'll make sure your hair stays in place, without it looking stiff or artificial. For wedding updos, we suggest booking a wedding hair trial appointment.
We believe haircuts are about much more than hair. Haircuts are about how you feel and how others see you. When your hair grows too long or becomes challenging to style, a new haircut or trim can make all the difference. Regularly scheduled haircuts also help keep your hair looking healthy, with body and bounce.

Yuria is a goddess!! I recently moved to Vancouver and have been struggling to find a hair salon. Salon Kanako is fantastic. It was easy and quick to make an appointment, everyone is friendly, and very Covid safe. I'm really low maintenance and lazy when it comes to my hair... I don't even own a hair dryer! Yuria helped me find a cut and style that matches my lifestyle. She was incredibly detail-oriented and kind. Highly recommend!

Very happy with the haircut that Jasmine did for me today. She is professional, patient and friendly. She pays attention to details and customizes the style to suit my hair (natrually wavy and dry at the ends). She also gave a quick head massage, which was a nice touch. Overall, very satifisfied.

I go to see Yulia and she is just DIVINE. She understands my hair like no other and is highly in-tuned with my personality. I always receive friendly service and amazing results. Everytime I leave the salon I feel like I'm on cloud 9! Today, I got my hair colored and styled and just LOVE it. I look super cute now and went black to medium brown. Highly recommend this place!!

This was my first visit to Kanako, and it won't be my last. Yuria was my stylist. She was clearly very knowledgable, and really lovely. The other staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming. This is the going my salon of choice from now on.

Kanako has cut my hair many times and each time I've had a very stylish and fun cut. The salon is always clean and staff is very friendly. I recently went back to get a haircut for the first time during COVID. I felt safe during my appointment because of how they took precaution.

I seemed to have had a similar experience as someone who reviewed this salon in the past.. regarding the cost of my visit.
I went in for a hydrating treatment and blow-dry. I was informed that the treatment was on sale for $65 and that the blow-dry was included.
The stylist was excellent, sat me down and had a discussion to plan what would be done to my hair. (conditioning treatment and wavy blow-dry)
..By the way - I rarely go to the salon so this was definitely appreciated!

I happened to come across Salon Kanako while looking for a place to book a haircut and found this gem! I ended up booking an appointment with Yuria, who was very knowledge, professional, kind and considerate when doing my hair.
I recommend booking with her; she was able to answer all my questions for my hair type, and gave recommendations for different products that work for it as it can be difficult to figure out what works best for thick, wavy/curly hair at a longer length in colder weather. :) What she said made sense and she provided different options if I wasn't into the previous recommendation

Kanako is great. She asked beforehand what I wanted (a month or so before my booking) and remembered (or checked her notes) for the day of my book ing. She was ready / prepared for the colour, which is very professional and thoughtful. She is very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend!

I came in asking to have my very black hair turn to a warm brown tone (all over colour) and Yuria did a great job!! Met all my expectations.

Samantha did an extraordinary job with my hair when I recently came in for a balayage. For a 3-hour long process, she was informative, accommodating, and very amicable. I have very dark brown hair which was toned to a lighter, cooler shade of brown. Not only did Samantha offer me helpful advice with her extensive hair knowledge, she also executed a wonderful work of "hair painting" that turned out even and natural-looking. I also got a complementary lip color to match my look for the day! Left the salon feeling great.

I have been going to Kanako for a little over two years and I will not see anyone else when it comes to colouring my hair. She used to work at another salon and I found her by reviews, she now has her own salon in Kitsilano.
AMAZING COLOUR CORRECTION!
I had red/dark brown hair with many layer of different hair dyes deposited on it when I first went to Kanako and she gave me a perfect job of pale blonde hair by the end of my visit! I went to 5 or 6 high end salons and all top stylists turned me away and said it can't be done and that all my hair would fry off, well thats not true this kind
